1998 E320 won't start when cold

Check to see if you have the correct spark plugs and/or spark plug heat range. Also some older Mercedes require non resistor plugs since the spark plug wires have a resistor in them. If you use a resistor spark plug, you wil get a weaker spark.

I'm not sure when Mercedes changed from M104 straight six engine to the V6, but it could be the CSV (cold start valve).
