WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER MB!
Dec 24, 2009 Reported the Radio / Navigation / Bluetooth has stopped working.
Dec 29, 2009 Brought my car in for repair. Service told me there was a software update that needed to be done, which should take 4 hours. After 4 hours I received a phone call saying the command center locked it self and needed authorization from MB to replace it. Dealer kept the car overnight waiting for approval.
Dec 30, 2009 Dealer left me a message saying they had some information for me regarding the vehicle.
MB told them how to reset the command center and not replace it.
Picked up my car at 4:30 PM on Dec 30, 2009. The radio doesn’t switch to the Disc player and also the balance control will not let me move the sound from front to back. It will move from left to right, but not back to front.
Dec 31, 2009, Brought back to car for repair of the command center ( RADIO ). The Balance control worked from left to right, but not front to back. Service told me it should take no more than 30 minutes to wait for the car. After waiting one hour, they told me that when they did they software update it deleted the fader function. ( If that is the case why does it work from left to right, but not front to back ) Service will let me know when to bring the car back for repair after New Years as MB is closed on Dec 31.
They didn’t want me to leave the car in service for 5 or 6 days or give me a loaner vehicle. I will be bringing the car in again the first week of Jan. 2010.
How does one get out of a lease ? MB has gone straight down hill, might as well give them TARP money as they are going to need it.

You already want to get out of your lease? You are clearly a rookie Mercedes owner, because others (including myself) have had to cope with waaayyy more problems than you. Most of those I bet you can't even imagine to happen with a brand, which portrays itself as superior and commands prices accordingly:
I bought a new S550 4MATIC 3 years ago and have gone through tens of "doctor's visits" with my car to try to solve problems with the brake system, the engine mounts, transmission mount, compressor of the air suspension, front seats (3rd driver's seat, 2nd passenger seat), etc., etc., etc. Just to name one additional problem: they had to open my engine twice to replace defective engine oil sensors.
In brief: a nightmare. NEVER AGAIN A MERCEDES, NEVER AGAIN WASTING MONEY ON INCOMPETENT DEALERS SUPPORTED BY INCOMPETENT MERCEDES-BENZ USA FIELD STAFF.
I would have never gone thru what you went thru without filing a complaint with Lemon Law, certified letter to Charles Shady, etc. This is the worst MB I have owned ( 4th one ) and last one. I will be out of this car by next week.

You are a lucky man if you manage to get out of that car in a week. I wish I could have achieved that when it became clear that my S550 was full of problems.
As to Lemon Law: I hired a good lawyer and sued MB USA. They hired a better lawyer, who managed to drag our the process for 1.5 year. Then the judge ordered MB USA and me to reach a settlement. MB USA did not want to buy back my S class because that would damage the brand and because my car had driven too many miles. That obviously happened because I drove additional 30,000 miles in the 18 months they managed to dragged their feet. Anyway, they offered me $40,000 for the car, which I had bought 2.5 years earlier for $115,000 (and which cost $130,000 today). Since I had still 50,000 miles of warranty coverage left (I fortunately had the foresight to buy the extended warranty package, since I was not 100% sure this new generation S class would actually be better than the previous, which had many quality problems), I decided to keep the car and MB USA ended up paying $43,000 to me and their lawyer, plus the repair cost for my car, plus losing me and several people around me as their customers. A friend of mine has a S600, which came out of warranty recently. He asked how for how much money his dealership had worked on trying to solve the technical problems of his car (and fortunately charged to MB USA): $80,000, and obviously one more former Mercedes fan who will not waste a dime on Mercedes-Benz anymore.
I can tell you, every time one of my friends asks me how I like my car because they are considering buying an S class and they buy a BMW 7 series instead, it makes me very happy. In fact, no one who has asked me, has ever bought a Mercedes. I estimate I helped BMW and Lexus so far to sell at least 8 LS460 or 7 series. My little contribution to driving this bad automaker Mercedes-Benz out of business in America.

It is nice to see Mercedes step up to the plate with the problems I had on my 2009 E350 4 Matic.
They did take back the vehicle! Good Bye headache!
I send emails to the president of MBUSA, the CIO and also manged to email Germany. Mercedes took me out of the lemon 2009 and gave me a 2010, which I plan to trade in this week for a Lexus. If you like email me your email address and I will send you the email address I have and the people I emailed.
