Hi, the mercedes benz is designed to stop quicker than any other car. Have you noticed that when you hit the gas the car takes off right away? and when you hit the brake it stops right away too. And also I don't know if you noticed that the car is quite heavy, that puts a lot of pressure on the brakes. I suggests when you replace the brakes that you use a Ceramic, Made in Germany brake pads and rutors. There are lots of Auto Parts that sells these items at low cost than the dealer. Usually dealer uses cheap parts and charge you a lot for it. Here are some Auto Parts that sells original parts from Germany and ships right to your door. BMAparts.com, ETYparts.com just find a trusted mechanic and have them install it for you. You can save a lot of money and time.

I think people don't understand the higher quality materials that go into German cars. Like mentioned in the other comment, Mercedes will perform much better than any American made luxury car and the quality is unmatched in comfort and quietness in the cabin and how well in handles.
When people go to a budget brake shop they are only ripping themselves off, because they (the shop) will purchase the lowest quality parts to save money and they are probably imported from China.

There are plenty of (US) sources out there that supply high quality German made imported parts.
If you can't do the brakes yourself at least purchase the parts yourself then have a shop that will install them for you. Some places say they won't warranty the job unless they use their parts, which is BS. Stay away from business that practice this. They are concerned only about the bottom dollar and not the customer.
