I have had many problems with my GLK350 also. 5 hours after the purchase the air conditioning went out and it took a week to get the part from Germany. Then I put it in the shop for the second time because the sunshade on the panoramic roof had to be replaced. I had to put it in the shop for the 3rd time because of the satelite radio and the back tailgate not working. The dealership took 3 days to fix it and 2 days after I picked it up the same problem happened again. I took it back into the shop for the 4th time and went to pick it up after 3 more days and did not get into the vehicle and tried the back tailgate door and it was still not operating correctly. The service manager was stumped because he had been driving it all week and every time he would get in or out he would test the back tailgate door and it worked until I came in to pick it up. I have always wanted a Mercedes because of the well engineered automobile they are and now is the first time that I could afford one and I have had nothing but problems. My brother in law has had his Mercedes for 7-8 years and never had the first problem with it. My daughter in law's parents and other relatives have owned Mercedes and never had any problems with theirs. I am like you and just want to dirve my vehicle and it has been in the shop 19 days out of the 60 days I have had it. I am still waiting for it to get out of the shop so the 19 is still going up.

Did they at least give you Mercedes-Benz loaners? While I own 7 M-B models, some being classic collectibles, I have hesitated buying a new one because of owner experiences like yours.

Yes, they have given me a loaner while the vehicle has been in the shop. The first time with the air conditioner going out, we were on our way to Florida and dropped it off in Jacksonville (Broumas Mercedes) and they actually gave us a GLK350 courtesy car for the the week and then they drove our vehicle down to Orlando and exchanged the vehicles. The other times it has been in the shop the dealership gave me a C300 loaner

We have had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS and no help or offer of goodwill from MERCEDES BENZ regarding our Lemon of a GLK-350 Bluetec. It is a piece of junk that they are (trying to) rebuild one piece at a time. We are very frustrated and disgusted. This brand has been so reliable in the past - - WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MERCEDES BENZ EVERYONE used TO LOVE!!!!! Have you had to consult with an atty about your problems? We are sending a demand letter next week to MB, how sad -- how very sad!

We have had issues with our new GLK 350 as well, So far we have turned our vehicle in for the same problem 4 times and they found other issues with the vehicle too. We absolutely love the vehicle, the body style, the color, and luxury, but we are getting tired of the issues with the excesive smoke from the exhaust pipe, latch malfunction from the trunk, engine light twice in the last 30 days and air pump replacement.

Our 350 GLK Bluetec has been at the dealership SHOP since march 15, 2010 for same problem we reported in early December. I get a call (finally) from a Southern Rep for MB. Can we all say TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE. The Dealership, Moss Motors of Lafayette, still has not contacted us regarding this piece of junk. The Southern Rep says the vehicle still cannot be fixed and they would put us in conact with 3rd party who negotiates buy backs. NEGOTIATES?? This should be interesting, as we are no longer in the negotiating mood. We have determined Mercedes Benz has NO QUALITY CONTROL anymore. The loaner has some sort of electrical/sensor malfunctions -- it is horrible. Too bad Mercedes Benz Corp. isn't forced to run ads saying hey, we have the same name, but actually all of our cars are JUNK, expensive JUNK, but JUNK nonethelss.

My GLK is in the shop right now (again) I had problems with the tailgate opening at odd times or not opening when I wanted it to. Then, I opened the back hatch, put my groceries in, unlocked the doors, got in and turned the key...nothing!! The car would not start, it did not make any sound at all. the door locks didn't work, the dash would light up, then turn off. I called my dealer to come get it and they said it sounded like a battery. I don't think so....sounds like a software problem or electrical problem to me. Anyway, I am not happy and the dealer called me last night to say they can't recreate the problem, so they have no idea how long it will take to fix.

What did they tell you about the back latch malfunction? I think that is the root of all my problems...
