Greetings fellow Benz owners. Anyone out there that has an older model slk ? If so , I would like to know what I can use to strip off the remaining interior paint that was used on the vinyl and rubber . Still have quite a bit on console and really looks horrible. I also want to touch up the black bucket seats with some Leather Dye. Anyone know if a oil base or water base dye is best. Both seats have worn on the top and bottom sections mainly on the exterior side panels. certainly would apopreciate some helpful advice. Regards, Bob H.

I found a company called English Color (Englishcolor.com) and they have all the paint that matches the MB interiors. The console was peeling on my 99 SLK230 which has only 38,000 miles. They matched the color of my interior and I bought a can of the spray. I did not know how to take the console off and could not spray paint it from the inside, so I took the can and sprayed inside the cap until I had about a half an inch of paint liquid. I then took a slim art paintbrush and dipped it in and just painted over the existing paint. It went on very smooth and looks great, you just have to keep spraying into the cap as it dries and as you need more. I also used it on my drivers side seat where there was wear from sliding in and out on the edge, and that looks great too, as this brand can be used on both plastic console areas and on leather too....good luck!
