Mercedes Benz Owners

Exclusive Owners Community

Hello All,

My family and I are in need of some advice from anyone who is or has dealt with a similar problem. We own a 2006 R500, about 3 times our car has stalled while driving. Twice at a stop light and once in mid motion! We have since parked the car and are trying to get information from other owners so that when we do take our car in to the dealer we can talk intelligently and not just be given the run around. Not to mention the fact that the service reps earn a commission for every car they service, so it is in their favor to invent even more problems for ones vehicle. If you are in a class action lawsuit, have had the problem resolved or not please share your information with us, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
I'm an attorney currently in litigation against MBUSA on behalf of clients who have experienced identical problems. If you'd like to reach me, go to my website at SAHELIANLAW.COM and email or call and ask to speak to my assistant Cheryl Hatch, and we'll be glad to share a copy of the legal documents we've filed in court.
Good luck,
Ara

Yes, we own a mercedes benz R500 and it shut down while we were driving on the highway. We had the car towed to Mercedes and they have been giving us the run around ever since. Mercedes seems to be confused about the problem themselves. There were not any signals given to us by the car to indicate that there was a problem before or after this occured. We are very upset about this considering the car only has 69,000 miles.

Hi Gregory,

I called Mercedes about the issue we have in common and they acted as if they had never heard of such a problem occurring. Unhappy with their response I contacted a certified mercedes service shop , explained the problem and was told it was a sensory issue. I brought my car in it cost $275 for parts (new fuel sensor I believe) and labor and my car was fixed in a matter of days. I'm not sure why Mercedes gives people the run around but I suspect it has to do with finagling people out of money. It's a racket if you ask me. The design mechanism is faulty and should not have passed standardized test. The way in which this model cuts off with no warning in mid motion is unacceptable, and life threatning. A design flaw to say the least. I hope I have shed some light.
