SL 350

Since purchasing my SL in 2006 it's had a few problems the first was water in the boot area  (trunk) cancelling out the central locking and roof operation ,It needed a new compressor unit £650.00 fitted my self ,apparently this is a common fault, which leaves me puzzled as to why MB don't address this fault. But the fault that drives me mad is the rattles in the folding top  ,has anybody found the location of the problem or cured it, please let me know. I forgot this one, when the car was new I left to cool weather in the UK for run to the South of France where the temp was 30c ,switched on air con, nothing, went to MB in Nice, Service was atrotious two finger aproach (French v Brits) MB forgot to charge the system when supplied,However in fairness to MB this is my 5th Merc and my S class is a fantastic bit of kit.
